Avipattikar Churna is a poly herbal Ayurvedic formulations to manage health problems due to an imbalance of Pitta dosha like acidity, indigestion and heartburn. These digestive problems are on the rise because of  lack of physical activities, sedentary lifestyle or due to unhealthy eating habits.

What are the ingredients of Avipattikar Churna

It is made by mixing the following herbs

Sonth ( Dry Ginger), 

Pippali (Piper longum), 

Kali mirch ( Black pepper), 

Harad( Terminalia chebula), 

Baheda ( Terminalia bellerica),

 Amla ( Emblica officinalis), 

Musta ( Cyprus rotundus) 

Vidang(Embelica ribes ),

Chhoti illaichi (Cardomam),

Tez patta(Indian bay leaf), 

Vida lavana ( vida salt) all these 10 gms each.

Laung (Cloves) 110gms

Nishoth (Operculina turpethum) 440 gms

Mishri (Candy sugar) 660 gms

 Mix all these ingredients in given quantity and store it in a air tight container.

What is Avipattikar churna used for

Avipattikar churna is used in many digestive problems. These include

Indigestion : It caused due to over eating, irregular eating habits and eating heavy and oily food. This leads Agnimandhya means weak digestive fire as a result of this there formation of Ama. The imbalanced pitta dosha and ama leads to sypmtoms like nausea, headache, sour belching. Avipattikar churna  is effective to relieve this symptoms due to its Deepan(appetizer) and pachan (digestive) properties.

Constipation : According to Ayurveda constipation is caused due to an aggravation of Vata dosha. Due to the imbalance of Vata dosha, the intestines become dry due to Sheet (cold) property of Vata dosha. This dries the Mala (stool), resulting in constipation.
Avipattikara Churna  contains  nishoth which helps to reduce constipation due to its Rechana (laxative) and Vata balancing properties.

Hyperacidity : This churna is very famous for its antacid property Acidity means increased level of acid in the stomach. When acidity happens it leads to symptoms like heartburn, sour burping, heaviness in chest.  Avipattikar churna is very beneficial in managing hyperacidity because of its digestive and purgative ( rechan) quality.

Piles : It occurs due to weak digestion and chronic constipation. Piles is very painful disease as there is pain and swelling around anal region. Consuming Avippatikar churna will help relieve constipation because of its rechan  quality. As a result of this there is relief from pain. 

Irritable bowel syndrome : It is commonly known as IBS. It is of two types first IBS with diarrhea and second IBS with constipation. Avipattikar churna is useful in irritable bowel syndrome with constipation. This churna benefits in irritable bowel syndrome because of its deepan ( carminative) , pachan (digestive) and rechan( laxative) properties.

What is the dose of Avipattikar churna

It is generally taken in 1/2 to 1 ( 2 to 3 gms)teaspoon quantity two times a day. However one must consult ayurvedic doctor before starting this medicine. 

Does Avipattikar churna have side effects

 Avipattikara Churna is most likely safe when taken at prescribed doses suggested by the doctor. However, diabetes patients should consult the doctor before taking any preparation made by Avipattikara Churna.

Also if taken in excess it may lead to loose motions, abdomen pain and some times bloating.

Is it also useful in GERD problem

 Avipattikar churna is considered effective for digestive problems including GERD. It works by balancing the high pitta dosha and by anulomana of Vayu because of its rechan ( laxative) quality and gives relief in GERD.
