How to use Kutaj

1. Kutaj Powder

  • Dosage : 2 to 5 grams daily in divided doses, it is made from dried bark and commonly mixed with warm water or honey.

2. Kutaj Ghan Vati (Tablets)

  • Dosage : 1 to 2 tablets twice daily or as directed by physician. Tablet are easy to consume

3. Kutajaristh ( special ayurvedic medicine)

  • 20 to 30ml two times daily

Research articles related Holalrica antidysentrica:
Anti- fungal activity: 

The aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Holarrhena antidysenterica Wall. (Apocynaceae) and Plumbago zeylanica L. (Plumbaginaceae) were evaluated for antifungal activity against pathogenic Aspergillus species. In the present study, six Aspergillus species such as, Aspergillus niger (MTCC281), Aspergillus fumigatus (MTCC343), Aspergillus sydowii (MTCC635), Aspergillus nidulans (MTCC804), Aspergillus flavus (MTCC871) and Aspergillus versicolor (MTCC1759) were taken against these two plant species. The in vitro antifungal activity was performed by agar disc diffusion method. The results showed that the root extract of Plumbago zeylanica and leaf extract of Holarrhena antidysenterica exhibited highest degree of antifungal activity towards these Asperigillus species. The ethanolic extracts of leaf and root of these plants were more active compared to aqueous extracts against all the investigated Aspergillus strains.

Home Remedies of Kutaj

  1. In diarrhea : Take Kutaj bark powder 1 to 2 grams and take it with buttermilk or water.
  2.  Renal stone : Take powder of kutaj seed ( Indrajav) and nishoth powder and mix both. Take this with milk or rice water helps to dissolve the stone.
  3. In fever : Take kutaj bark and giloy stem and add both of this herbs in 1 liter of water, boil this till water remains 250 ml. Take this decoction two times daily helps to relieve any kind of fever.
